Sword in hand and an extra one tucked snugly into his shorts, my little guy cruises through the house searching for and vanquishing the apparent plethora of monsters we have lurking behind chairs and hiding randomly throughout our home. “ah ha!” He exclaims. “Got you monster. Ah ha!” “Come on Trent.” He beckons to his brother with an outstretched arm, from which he is handing him a yellow plastic screwdriver (aka his sword). And off on their hunt they venture. Running through the house chasing monsters. How lucky I am to have such brave little tots. I don’t know that I myself could charge into the face of a monster with such confidence and determination.
Brice and Trent spent Thursday and Friday at NCBC day camp, leaving Nevan and I two days of long overdue one on one time. If you have more than one child, or in my case are nearing a basketball team, it’s always a good idea to spend one on one time with each of them. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular, they’ll simply appreciate the time. Nevan was quite excited about our “special” days together. We had special pizza for lunch, we got special ice cream on Thursday, we went to work at the rec. center and had an extra special time and we even had a special burp contest while sharing a special Sierra Mist. All day Nevan kept calling me his buddy and I too enjoyed our special time together.
