I was gettin kinda lazy for a while there. I could keep up with dishes and overall the house appeared to be clean. But appearances can be quite deceiving. Had you looked a little closer, this is what you’d of seen… Piles (lots of them) of laundry (you can read more about my dirty laundry dilemmas here), layers of gunk laminated to the floors, dust bunnies literally living in and under every piece of furniture, showers and tubs in need of scrubbing and to top it off there was the unpainted living room with a wall 3/4 of the way de-wallpapered and drop cloths, paint and rollers sitting in the same corner they had been for the past, oh… three or four months (yes, I said months). I had so many, many projects that I really, really wanted to get done, but for the life of me could not muster up the energy to do em. On Saturday, I woke up with this refreshed burst of cleaning madness! After painting the living room (with hubby’s help) I proceeded to scrub floors, sinks, tubs and toilets. I took up the ugly carpet on the porch (been wanting to rid that cute white wooden floor of it since we moved in) and my pregnant self dragged that thing out to the garage. I rearranged a few things downstairs and I swept the front walkway. My back did ache a bit (maybe a lot) on Sunday morning, but that didn’t keep me down! After church I dropped off the family and I went shopping. I love to shop, but hadn’t really been shopping in… I don’t know how long (hubby’s even been doing most of the grocery shoppin). On Sunday though, I went to wally world, Target (my favorite), Sears, Baby Gap, Toys R Us and I stopped by Game Stop to visit my brother. I picked up a few household items I’ve been needing for weeks (I forgot toilet paper though, again! Ugh!), and I got a few baby essentials. Came home and went to town in the nursery. Rearranged a couple of things, looked through the new outfits one more time and carefully placed my new buys. I also emptied the laundry basket that was sittin in the crib filled with business stuff I neglected to take downstairs and put away. And, speaking of laundry baskets… I’m almost done with the laundry too! Oh, one more thing, I brought home a pack of cloth potty training big boy pants for Nevan (yet another project I’d been too lazy to even attempt to tackle).
– Big exhale! –
I feel so accomplished.
