So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
Looks like the last time I posted was on a Thursday… Life has been full, to say the least. So, this weeks topic is truth. I am so thankful for the Truth that has truly set me free. I can’t imagine where I’d be without Jesus…
I am thankful for the truth of the Bible. I’m thankful for women like Mary, Martha, Ester and Ruth who teach me how to be the wife, mother and woman God has called me to be. I am thankful for Noah, who showed that even in the midst of world living in sin and chaos one can still stand firm in obedience to Christ. I am thankful for Daniel, because I know that even in trial God is with me. I am thankful for the words Jesus said, that I can turn to them in need and for comfort. I am thankful that for anything I might be facing or experiencing I can find truth and wisdom about it in the Word of God. And today, (as I marvel at the new life God has blessed us with) I am especially thankful for scriptures about family and parenting. Having a daughter has really caused me to think about my life… What kind of mother, wife and woman I am, because this precious baby girl will learn from me more than any other what it means to be each. I am thankful that in the pages of my Bible I can find the blueprints for raising my daughter… because on my own, I’m not sure I’d do a very good job.
