A gift of remembrance(her)

(Him) and I celebrated our anniversary last Wednesday, actually, we did the celebrating on Saturday. We went to dinner at the Olive Garden (thanks Steph and Christian!) and then we visited the Campbell Steele Gallery in Marion and enjoyed music, the art and a glass of wine. The greatest gift that evening was a moment of remembrance…
A friend and former pastor of ours had written an article that included a snapshot of our story and gave it to us on Friday to read over. My eyes filled with tears as I read the words that described our past and rejoiced over our presence. It was such a gift and blessing to remember where we were, and where we came from, and to know where we are today. Sometimes, in the midst of life and all its fullness, it is difficult to see beyond the flaws we have now, we are thankful to have been reminded of all we have to celebrate. I love (him) dearly and I thank God for all that He has done in our lives.
