Home sweet home

The thing about moving is that… well… things change. When we traveled last winter I don’t think we had yet understood that fact. We waltzed back into Iowa expecting all to be as we left it… and indeed it was not. Relationships change when you move away. Some become sweeter and cherished while others fade into the background of the daily grind. Having come to grips with the reality of change… this trip was amazing; relaxing and fun. It was a trip, and we got to hang with good friends. And there were moments that I missed it and that I may have wondered if we should have stayed… but more often I missed my home. I missed my church. I missed my community. While we mourn the friendships that have faded, we have welcomed new relationships and the Lord has blessed us with an amazing community in Texas.

As we set out for home relief, excitement and anticipation stirred.

And this is what we arrived to…
