One of my favorite things about homeschooling is developing creative hands-on educational experiences. This week we are learning how to run a business. No, I don’t think we will actually incorporate… but who knows what the future may hold…
A trip to the store for inventory, a calculation of cost, a little elbow geese and a coat of paint… The Lloyd’s opened their Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Stand this fine Monday morning and have already seen a number of generous patrons.
The co-owners and operators are learning how to work together and how to most effectively advertise to oncoming traffic. They are also working to develop a bit of self control by not drinking the refreshing beverage that seductively sits in front of them as sweat drips from their brows. (Yes, they have plenty of water.) We have talked through things like offering the mailman or joggers a free glass, and at the end of the workday we will discuss and chart peak business hours, how to adjust advertising strategies and weather or not they met their break even point.
If you’re in the neighborhood, or if you want to come and try the best Fresh Squeezed Lemonade in Fort Worth (made by kids)… Come take a little drive in our neck of the woods.
