The kids overheard some conversations about money and fundraising during a team meeting on Monday night…
“Man, I hope we can sell some necklaces today.”
“Let’s pray about it.”
“Yeah, we can pray to sell seven.”
“No, let’s pray for fifteen!”
For fear that their prayers would not be answered, I steered them toward seven. And there we sat, asking the Lord to sell seven necklaces.
Praise the Lord, hallelujah! Despite my reluctancy, despite my flesh that totally got the best of me yesterday, despite my lack of faith, despite their disobedience… heck, my disobedience, despite only remembering to pray with the kids three times for the seven…
I was reminded of the turkey we prayed for, and the truck inspection, and my brother, and our friends baby’s, and Kyrah’s arm, and…
God is so good. He is faithful while we are still sinners. He is for His glory and for growing our unbelief.
We have a ways to go, but we are that much closer and what an encouragement it was to all of us (and the rest of our team) to see seven sales yesterday. In fact… God provided in abundance and before closing my eyes to sleep He provided eight necklace sales. He is so much greater than we can even hope for or think to ask for. And I love that time and time again he reveals himself in such tangible ways to all of us. His heart is for many to see his glory, and I believe that if that is the desire of our hearts, our striving will not be in vain.
Thank you to the seven of you who were a part of what the Lord was doing yesterday. Literally moments after the last time we prayed my Etsy app chimed and the kids went to bed celebrating His goodness.
May he grant your hearts desire and fulfill all your plans.
