As we piled into the familiar seats of our Suburban and closed the doors of our two week training… the tears began to roll…
For some of the kids, it was the first time in a long time that they felt truly understood by their peers. It often feels like the world is headed in one direction while our family travels in another.
“If you can’t see very far ahead, go ahead as far as you can see.”
I didn’t want to go. I couldn’t see very far ahead and living in limbo was weighing on me. But God… while reading through Romans He spoke directly to my heart. Despite my emotions I decided to walk in obedience; to continue down the path He set before us. A couple nights before we left, the Lord gave me a dream and confirmed the call he has for our family.
Our first family airplane excursion wasn’t terrible. It isn’t easy navigating seven kiddos, luggage for nine plus carseats and a stroller through the airport, but the kids were more than helpful and they enjoyed the adventure.
God spoke in so many ways while we were at training. We acquired a lot of instruction and information, we experienced a miraculous healing, and we can see a little further ahead. God has given us a vision for next steps as we continue in obedience and prepare to move overseas.
